Silver Springs Community Association’s commitment to health and safety

We are limiting access, rearranging spaces and reducing occupancies to facilitate physical distancing.

We are requiring all staff and facility users to complete the Alberta Health Services COVID-19 Self-Assessment prior to entrance into the community centre and outdoor pool. Should a staff member answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions in the Self-Assessment they must not come to work.  If a staff member becomes ill while at work, they are required to inform their manager and leave immediately.  A substitute lifeguard/instructor will be called in. 

The SSCA office staff will be ensuring all pool staff and customers are adhering to our Covid-19 protocols.  Pool staff contact lists have been updated so that they can be contacted in the event of a known exposure. 

We are onboarding all staff with enhanced training on COVID-19 exposure, transmission and prevention.

We are applying and enforcing all guidelines from Alberta Health Services (AHS) at the Silver Springs Community Centre.

We are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting practices with a focus on high-touch/high-occupancy surfaces.  A cleaning log will be kept.  All SSCA and pool staff will have cleaning supplies at their workstations and work areas so that cleaning can occur frequently.

We are installing barriers in close-interaction areas.

Masks, shields and gloves will be provided for staff and must be used while sanitizing and disinfecting.  These items will be available in the main office and the pool office.

Protocols

Before Arrival

All users of SSCA facilities are strongly encouraged to stay up to date on Silver Springs Community Association (SSCA) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines by reviewing and understanding this document, checking our website regularly and utilizing reliable sources for the most current information.

The SSCA is committed to a healthy and safe work and play environment and we ask for your assistance by adhering to SSCA and AHS guidelines.

AHS, respective health organizations and government bodies remain the primary source for guidance on COVID-19 and other health related issues.

Please do not come to SSCA if:

• You or anyone in your household is sick, particularly those with COVID19 type symptoms of fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath or any other symptoms as outlined by the AHS Self-Assessment.  https://www.albertahealthservices.ca
• You or anyone in your household has been in close contact with a confirmed or probable COVID19 case.
• You have travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days.

While you are at the Community Centre or Outdoor Pool

Always maintain 2-metres of physical distancing with those who do not reside in your household or in your cohort.  In common areas where distancing may not be possible, wearing a non-medical mask is highly encouraged, however use of a non-medical mask for high intensity physical activity is not recommended.  Masks are not allowed in the pool.

Follow all signage and wayfinding.  Access to certain areas will be restricted.  Do not enter areas marked as closed.

Respect occupancies posted for rooms. 

Strictly adhere to all public health guidelines such as physical distancing, practicing good hand and respiratory hygiene and limited high touch point contact such as door handles and railings.

Washrooms, hand sanitizer stations and cleaning supplies will be available at both the community centre and the outdoor pool.

Follow ‘ENTRY’ and ‘EXIT’ signage posted on doors.

Viewing areas will be restricted to promote physical distancing.

WE STRIVE TO MAINTAIN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS RESPECTFUL, TOLERANT, SAFE AND COMFORTABLE FOR ALL SSCA FACILITY USERS AND EMPLOYEES.  ANY PERSON WHO CONTRAVENES THIS REQUIREMENT WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND MAY HAVE PRIVILEGES SUSPENDED FROM THE SILVER SPRINGS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION AND OUTDOOR POOL.

Water Fountains

Water fountains will be turned off. Please bring your own water bottle labelled with your name.  All bottles left behind will be discarded.

Room Rentals

Community centre rooms will be available for rental starting Jun 26, 2020.  All rooms have a reduced capacity in accordance with AHS guidelines.  Renters are responsible for keeping a list of attendees at their rental and providing masks/hand sanitizer, as necessary.  Long-term renters will be required to submit their re-launch plans before starting their programs and must comply with all public health orders at all times.   SSCA will have hand sanitizer at each entrance.  Washrooms are available for hand washing.  Paper towel will be available to dry hands.  Hand blow dryers will be taped off.

Adult & Children’s Programs

More information coming soon.  We hope to start offering adult fitness and children’s dance in September if permitted by public health authorities.

COVID-19 RULES AND PROGRAM DECLARATION

This declaration must be completed prior to visiting the Silver Springs Community Centre or Outdoor Pool.  Failure to do so prior will result in denial of access to our facilities.

The Silver Springs Community Association appreciates and expects your cooperation to allow us to re-open the facility.  We are asking that you strictly observe the rules during COVID-19.  The Silver Springs Community Association is permitting use based on your assurance within this document.  Any false statements could result in legal liability towards you.  You agree to observe and fully abide by all rules and regulations prescribed by the Silver Springs Community Association.  You may be asked to leave the premises if you are not following the rules and regulations prescribed by the Silver Springs Community Association.  

THE VIRUS CAN BE TRANSMITTED BY ASYMPTOMATIC PEOPLE.  THE SILVER SPRINGS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION IS FOLLOWING GOVERNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS BUT THERE CAN BE NO ASSURANCE THAT THE VIRUS WILL NOT BE CONTRACTED AT OUR FACILITY.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE TAKING PART IN THE PROGRAM/ACTIVITY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

By completing and submitted this declaration you agree to the statements within:

I hereby declare that I or anyone in my house does not have any of the following symptoms:

• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of Breath/Difficulty breathing
• Sore throat/Painful Swallowing
• Chills
• Runny Nose/Nasal Congestion
• Feeling Unwell/Fatigued
• Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea
• Unexplained loss of appetite
• Loss of sense of taste or smell
• Muscle/Joint Aches
• Headache
• Conjunctivitis

I hereby declare that I or anyone in my household has not experienced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the past 14 days (to include fever, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficultly breathing).  If I or anyone in my household experience any cold or flu-like symptoms after submitting this declaration, I will then not visit the Silver Springs Community Centre or Outdoor Pool for a minimum period of 14 days after the cold or flu-like symptoms have completely gone away.  This remains in effect during the entire COVID-19 pandemic unless communicated otherwise.

I hereby declare that I or any member of my household has not travelled to or had a lay-over in any country outside of Canada in the past 14 days.  If I or anyone in my household travel to any country outside Canada after submitting this declaration, I will then not visit the Silver Springs Community Centre or Outdoor Pool for a minimum period of 14 days after the date of return to Canada.  This remains in effect during the entire COVID-19 pandemic unless communicated otherwise.

I hereby declare that I or any member of my household has not had unprotected contact (face-to-face contact with 2 meters) with some who is ill with a cough and/or fever

I hereby declare that I or any member of my household has not had unprotected contact in the last 14 days with someone who is being investigated or confirmed to be a case of COVID-19

I have read and understand the Silver Springs Community Association’s COVID-19 rules and accept and waive any right to privileges should I not comply with these rules.

I hereby accept the RISK OF CONTRACTING COVID-19 by choosing to attend or use the Silver Springs Community Associations facilities and programs.

I hereby release the Silver Springs Community Association, its Directors, Officers and Staff from any and all claims that I have or may have in the future for:

1. Any loss or damage that I may suffer due to contracting COVID-19, including sickness or death, as a result of attending or using the Silver Springs Community Association’s programs or facilities.
2. Any requests to leave the premises as imposed by the Silver Springs Community Association resulting from the breach of my obligations under this agreement.

I acknowledge that Norwest Soccer’s Refund Policy is as follows:

Up until March 15, 2023 refunds will be given, less a 20% administration fee.

After March 15, 2023 there will be no refunds for any reason other than medical.

INFORMATION RELEASE WAIVER (2023):

The following are examples of how personal information on the soccer  registration form may be used and disclosed for soccer related activities and are not intended as an all-inclusive list. These activities form a vital  part of a healthy and functioning organization and the participation of all registrants in these activities is viewed as an important part of every player's enjoyment and development in soccer.

• The use of a registrant's name for the identification of assigned teams.

• The use of a registrant's name, address, telephone number, email address, birth date, parents'/guardian name, address, telephone number, and email address for player identification purposes for soccer related activities.

• The use of a registrant's name, address and related contact information for the purpose of acquiring voluntary assistance.

• The use of a registrant's name, telephone number, and related contact information for changes to schedules and other soccer related activities.

• The use of a registrant's name and photo for athletic events and sport related information for community newsletters or other soccer related publications.

• The use of individual, team, or group photos taken during a soccer related event for display during so related functions.

• The use of photos/videos, taken by a member of Norwest Soccer for educational/promotional purposes relating to the game of soccer.

• The use of a registrant's name and any health and/or related personal Information to assist authorized individuals in responding to emergency situations and to assist the players who have a medical or other condition.

Please note: Photos, videos or images of players attending or participating in a soccer activity that are open to the general public may be taken by the general public and used for purposes within and outside Norwest Soccer.

Parents are under no obligation to consent: it is their voluntary decision to do so. This consent remains valid the current soccer season only.

I being the parent/legal guardian have read and understand the information provided. By agreeing with the statement and continuing with on-line registration I hereby voluntarily consent to the management and disclosure of the specified personal information as noted above.

LIABILITY & RISK WAIVER:

This release form is inclusive of all Norwest Soccer programs and activities for 2023. In agreeing to this waiver, the parents and/or guardians recognize that soccer is a contact sport and that accidents and/or injuries to participants can result from the game.

I/We the Parents/Guardian(s) of the player registering to play with Norwest Soccer, hereby give my/our approval to his/her participation in any and all of the programs and activities of Norwest Soccer. I/We recognize all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities including transportation to and from such activities. I/We do further hereby release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless the coaches, managers, trainers, officers and officials appointed by Norwest and I/We likewise do release from responsibility any person transporting our child to and from such activities. I/We do hereby consent to the above information being provided to all authorized persons in Norwest Soccer, Including, but not limited to, coaches, managers, coordinators, and registrars.

I acknowledge that Refund Policy: All refunds are subject to a 20% administration fee. No refunds once the class commences.

The following are examples of how personal information on the dance registration form may be used and disclosed for dance related activities and are not intended as an all-inclusive list. These activities form a vital  part of a healthy and functioning organization and the participation of all registrants in these activities is viewed as an important part of every player's enjoyment and development in dance.

• The use of a registrant's name, address, telephone number, email address, birth date, parents'/guardian name, address, telephone number, and email address for identification purposes for dance related activities.
• The use of a registrant's name, address and related contact information for the purpose of acquiring voluntary assistance.
• The use of a registrant's name, telephone number, and related contact information for changes to schedules and other dance related activities.
• The use of a registrant's name and photo for athletic events and sport related information for community newsletters or other dance related publications.
• The use of individual or group photos taken during a dance related event for display during so related functions.
• The use of photos/videos, taken by a member of Dance Foundations for educational/promotional purposes relating to dance.
• The use of a registrant's name and any health and/or related personal Information to assist authorized individuals in responding to emergency situations and to assist the players who have a medical or other condition.

Please note: Photos, videos or images of players attending or participating in a dance activity that are open to the general public may be taken by the general public and used for purposes within and outside Dance Foundations.

Parents are under no obligation to consent: it is their voluntary decision to do so. This consent remains valid the current dance season only.

I/We the Parents/Guardian(s) of the participant registering for Dance Foundations hereby give my/our approval to his/her participation in any and all of the programs and activities of Dance Foundations. I/We recognize all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities including transportation to and from such activities. I/We do further hereby release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless the coaches, managers, trainers, officers and officials appointed by Dance Foundations and I/We likewise do release from responsibility any person transporting our child to and from such activities. I/We do hereby consent to the above information being provided to all authorized persons in Dance Foundations, Including, but not limited to, coaches, managers, coordinators, and registrars.
